About Lacrosse

Cradling: Using centrifugal force to keep the ball in the pocket.
Scooping: Picking up a ground ball.
Clearing: Moving the ball from the defensive to the offensive end.
Slashing: When a player stick contacts an opponent improperly.
Holding: Impeding the movement of an opponent or a player has his stick in between the arm pads and the players body.

Raptors follows the USA Lacrosse guidelines for boys and girls.
Objective: Score by shooting the ball into the opponent's goal.
Play starts with a face-off (boys) or draw (girls).
Defenders use sticks to block passes and disrupt the offense.
The goals, 6 feet by 6 feet, sit inside a circular "crease". An attacking player cannot enter the crease around the goal, but may reach in with his stick to scoop a loose ball.
The team with the ball needs to complete two passes before they can make a shot on goal.
Instead of facing off again after a goal, the team that was just scored on will take possession and clear it. This will speed up the play.
